Cuba comes to Cali with powerfull women´s cycling team.

With Lisandra Guerra as leader, Cuba comes to the UCI Track World Cup 2010 with a powerful Cali women's team which also included the stellar Yoanka Gonzales, one of the cyclists remembered by fans of the capital of Valle del Cauca, common visitant of podium in Alcides Nieto Patiño velodrome.
Lisandra Guerra es multiple World Champion, Panamerican champion and gold medalist at the World Cup.
Guerro won for Cuba third world medal World Youth Championships, before they had Julio Herrera (1994) and Yumari Gonzales (1997).
Liza, who has been a student of the World Cycling Centre in Switzerland and his career has had as a coach Hector Ruiz, stopped the timers in 35 second 500 milliseconds, placing a new world record by over 35,550 that had the Italian Valentina Alessio .

Track Technical Committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI) had scheduled 24 events for the second stage of the Track World Cup in Santiago de Cali. 12 of these competitions are for men and 12 for women.

Omnium, new Olympic race
The Omnium is the new competition in cycling track that was born after a series of long discussions between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Cycling Union (UCI), at the request of reducing the number of medals awarded for this type of cycling on the Olympic program.
To prevent the disappearance of historical evidence in cycling finally agreed dancefloor together six of these tests in a single setting for the Olympic program as the date of its debut, the 2012 London Olympics. The competition was designed for four endurance events and two speed, which eventually qualify the pistard more complete in two days of competition. The Omnium officially debuted last March in Denmark, during the World Championships in Ballerup.

In Proszcow European Championships (Poland), the women's title went to Spanish Leire Olebarría, who repeated after the first stop of the UCI World Cup in Melbourne (Australia).
In Colombia, the two great specialists in this event are the Juan Esteban Arango and Carlos Uran. The first is current national and centroamericano champion, and Uran get seventh place in Melbourne. Juan Esteban Arango precisely, will represent our country in the Parada de Cali, while the Olympic Maria Luisa Calle will do so in the female.
Telepacifico World cup
The International Cycling Union (UCI) has renewed its confidence in the talent, creativity and technical deployment Telepacífico programmer, responsible for the transmissions to Colombia and the world of the second stop of the UCI World Cup, to be held 16 to 18 December at the Alcides Nieto Patiño Velodrome.
